Basically what the topic says. I noticed that this game has 3 different types of accounts: free, core and HoT (aka core+expansion). I started wondering if there was a way to unlock most of the features of the game (upgrade to "core") by buying a GW2 key (third-party; around 10 EUR) and activating it in the game rather than paying 45 euros for HoT.

There have been two outfits you can get without gems so far. The first was the Hexen Outfit, which can be bought for candy corn during halloween. The second is the Royal Guard Outfit which was given as a reward for people with day 1 accounts. So far there has been only one 'free' outfit: The Hexed Outfit.
Whats up with my missing f2p limitations? So I just downloaded the game and apparently I have a level 3 char from about 5 years ago. Now I'm giving it a better chance, but I only plan to purchase expansions after a few weeks at least.
